2025 Open Juried: Sanctuary
Ends on
WAAM 2025 OPEN JURIED EXHIBITION: Sanctuary
ABOUT THE CALL FOR ENTRIES
Sanctuary: This exhibition explores the idea of sanctuary. This can mean a safe haven, refuge, sacred space, place of beauty, or something entirely unique. What makes a space or moment feel protected, sacred, or healing? Where do you go—physically or mentally—when you need comfort, clarity, or peace? This juried exhibition invites work in all forms that reflect on the concept of sanctuary. Interpret it literally or abstractly. Your sanctuary might be a landscape, a home, a gesture, a memory, or even a state of being.
All media are accepted. No size or format restrictions.
Painting, sculpture, photography, video, digital, mixed media—everything is welcome.

ABOUT THE JUROR
Sergio Mercado - From a young age, Sergio found himself inspired by the sleek contemporary designs coming out of California. Pursuing his dream, he found a home at the studio of BAMO, Inc. in San Francisco, where over eight years he was free to explore his passion for design, experiment with materials, and develop his signature style and aesthetic. After great success on the west coast, Sergio moved back east to assume the role of Creative Director at Clodagh Design. Here he engaged his own cultivated style, with Clodagh’s iconic brand. As the Sergio Mercado Design Studio heads into its 15th year, Sergio continues to pull his inspiration from textural materials, contemporary lines, soft palettes, and a chic industrial aesthetic. He enjoys interpreting the world through a modern lens, while respecting the traditional tenets of interior design. Sergio is also a familiar figure at Art Basel, Art Miami, TEFAF, NADA, Untitled, Design Miami, The Salon New York and Collective Design, as he sources furnishings, artworks and sculptures, always warmly inviting his clients to join him on the curatorial adventure.
